Napoli has the opportunity to take an outright lead in Champions League Group E if they win away at Genk on Wednesday. Carlo Ancelotti’s men sit level at the top after they beat defending European champions Liverpool, 2–0, on Matchday 1. Genk will be hard-pressed to hold back the Azzurri tide in Belgium.

The Luminus Arena will host the inaugural meeting between these two teams, with this being the first season in which Belgian champions Genk made it to the group stage as automatic qualifiers. Napoli is significantly more experienced in Europe’s first-tier competition and are competing in the group phase for the fourth season in a row. Genk have progressed this far just twice before.

The Belgian outfit is still awaiting its first Champions League group stage win, however, it will face a team that’s scored 11 goals in three away fixtures this season. Napoli has put four goals past each Fiorentina and Lecce in Serie A this season, while they also suffered a narrow 4–3 defeat to reigning champions Juventus on Aug. 31.

Winning Group E looks more realistic for Napoli after they defeated Liverpool at the Stadio San Paolo for a second year running, but its away form in Europe has been pretty woeful in recent times. The Italians have four losses and two draws from their last six European away fixtures. They haven’t won outside Naples in the Champions League since a 2–0 playoff win at Nice in Aug. 2017, and they haven’t won away in the group stage since Dec. 2016 (2–1 vs. Benfica).

Ancelotti hopes to end that barren run at Genk, whose last Champions League win also came in the playoffs—a 2–1 victory against Maccabi Haifa in Aug. 2011. They’ve clinched draws against Chelsea, Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen in the years since, though restraining this Napoli attack will be a different beast altogether.

The Champions League returns on Wednesday with the second game in the group stage. In Group E, Genk host Napoli at Luminus Arena. Genk are at the bottom of Group E after losing their first game of the tournament 6-2 against Red Bull Salzburg. Napoli won their first game of the tournament, beating last year’s champions Liverpool 2-0.

Belgian champions Genk have got off to a slow start in their title defense. The Smurfs are sixth in the Jupiler Pro League following three losses in their first nine games. Genk’s defensive liabilities were exposed in their first game against Salzburg. Against one of the better-attacking clubs in Europe, manager Felice Mazzu will likely be extremely conservative. If they decide to open the game up more and become more offensive, they will try to get the ball to Mbwana Samatta. The Tanzania striker leads the team with six goals this season and had a goal and an assist in their first game of the tournament.

Napoli are again chasing Juventus in the Serie A table. The Donkeys have finished second behind Juventus in three of the past four seasons. This season looks like Napoli will be again chasing the defending champions. Napoli have got off to a bit of a slow start, picking up 12 points in their first six games. Despite losing two games, the Donkeys remain among the highest-scoring clubs in Italy. Napoli are averaging 2.5 goals per game. Dries Mertens leads the club with five goals this season and scored the winning goal against Liverpool. Mertens will likely start in the front two along with Arkadiusz Milik.

The Champions League match between Genk and Napoli will be broadcast live online. Live streaming is available on B/R Live, which you can access with your cable or satellite subscription, either online or through their app. We’re heading into Matchweek 2 of the Champions League group stage, and Genk will be playing Napoli at 12:55 p.m. ET Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Luminus Arena.

Genk lost 6-2 to Red Bull Salzburg two weeks ago. Napoli won 2-0 against Liverpool.

Right now, Genk (zero points) is last in Group E, while Napoli (three points) is in second place in the group behind Red Bull Salzburg (three points).

Recall that only the top two teams in the group will advance to the knockout phase. Genk needs a win to get out of last place; we’ll see how accommodating Napoli will be. Check back at CBSSports.com to keep track of this and all the UEFA Champions League events.

Barcelona vs Sevilla Live

Barcelona vs Sevilla Live : Barcelona vs Sevilla Live  Stream, Barcelona host Sevilla on Sunday, with both teams sitting on 13 points – two points off La Liga leaders Real Madrid. Barca managed to steal a win in the Champions League against a good Inter on Wednesday, FC Barcelona vs Sevilla Spanish La Liga Match. 2019 for Barcelona and on this page you can find live links of all Barcelona match throughout the season. Barcelona and Sevilla have the most arduous of trips before they even kick off in this European Super Cup final. UEFA in their wisdom decided that the game.

Barcelona against Sevilla at the Camp Nou in Sunday evening’s LaLiga Santander clash brings together two high-scoring teams fighting towards the top of the table while still looking to find top gear after challenging starts to the new season.

Barça has had a roller-coaster start to their 2019/20 LaLiga Santander campaign, impressively winning all three of their home games so far but struggling on the road before last weekend’s much needed 2-0 victory at Getafe.

Blaugrana coach Ernesto Valverde has been using his experience to deal with serious injury issues – and last year’s champions remain well in touch in this season’s title race, currently in fourth spot just two points off leaders Real Madrid.

Positives for Barça have been promising starts by summer signings Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong, as well as the startling impact by 16-year-old youth team product Ansu Fati. More frustrating has been injury issues limiting team captain and talisman Lionel Messi to just 91 minutes of LaLiga action so far this season.

Sevilla have had a similarly up and down beginning to their campaign. Julen Lopetegui’s new-look side was top of the table after taking 10 points from their first four games only to stumble to defeats against Madrid and Eibar, before returning to form with a bang in Sunday’s thrilling 3-2 win at home to Real Sociedad.

Lopetegui’s team currently lie level on points with Barça, sitting sixth in the very tight top of the early LaLiga Santander table. A goalkeeper for Real Madrid, Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano during his playing career, the Basque has quickly put together an impressively competitive team at the Sanchez Pizjuan as he moves on from abruptly interrupted spells in charge of the Spain national team and Real Madrid.

Sevilla’s results so far have been especially impressive given 11 summer signings having already featured in the team’s first seven LaLiga games. Among those to impress have been former Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan, who scored winning goals away at Granada and Alaves, and Argentine attacker Lucas Ocampos who netted the decisive goal last weekend against ‘La Real.’ Meanwhile, veterans Jesus Navas, Ever Banega and one-time Barça youth teamer Nolito have provided very useful LaLiga experience and know-how.

Following a strong second half performance and a big Champions League victory against Inter Milan in midweek, Barcelona return to action in La Liga for their first Sunday night match of the season, which is usually when the marquee matchups take place in the Spanish top flight. This is the first real test at home in the domestic schedule for Barça, and one they must pass.

The international break is upon us, and it’s imperative to avoid two weeks of doubts and questions for this team. The start of the season was ultra inconsistent, but the last three wins in a row against Villarreal, Getafe and Inter showed some good signs about the potential of this side, and if they can get somewhat healthy and Ernesto Valverde allows these plays to express themselves, then we could be looking at a really good team after the break.

But Sunday won’t be easy. Sevilla have the best away record in the division and Julen Lopetegui is doing a solid job in his first three months on the job. His team is solid across the board, although a 3-2 loss to Eibar followed by a 3-2 win against Real Sociedad in the last two games show they are a bit vulnerable right now.

This fixture has promised goals in recent years – Sevilla lost 4-2 at the Camp Nou last October, with Barça’s ex-Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic scoring against his old club. The Catalans also won the reverse fixture at the Sanchez-Pizjuan, with Messi bagging a hat-trick after Navas had opened the scoring early. The teams also met in the 2018/19 Copa del Rey, with Sevilla winning the first leg 2-0 at home, but Barca roaring back to progress thanks to a 6-1 victory in the return.

Sevilla has not won at the Camp Nou in LaLiga since 2003, but that does not mean they should not travel confident given how well they have been playing under Lopetegui. Another high-scoring clash looks on the cards and a win for either side would ensure they remain right in the title race going into next week’s international break.

Lionel Messi is healthy, Luis Suárez is on fire, Antoine Griezmann looks more comfortable, Ansu Fati may come off the bench, Arturo Vidal may start and make runs into the box, and Jordi Alba could be back to make his crazy runs up and down the left flank. If Sevilla are there for the taking, Barça should be ready to pounce.

Just don’t tell them to “control the game”, Valverde. We have really good attackers who should attack all the time. It is what it is.

Just over a week since it was announced that Inter Milan, along with its city rival AC Milan, plan to build a brand new $1.35 billion, 60,000-seat arena, another gleaming treasure has become a more pressing obsession, at least for those who follow the Nerazzurri.

Last season’s fourth placed finish, 21 points behind a Juventus team winning its eighth consecutive title, brought an end to Luciano Spalletti’s reign and opened the door for Antonio Conte to return after a spell at Chelsea.

Just five months later, Inter sits top of Serie A with six wins from six and represents a genuine threat to the monopoly that Juventus, which it plays on Sunday in the Derby d’Italia, has enjoyed for so long. The change has been as rapid as it has been surprising given the overhaul of the squad and the number of new players. But according to Italian football expert Adam Digby, much of the success lies with Conte simply being Conte.

But it has been Conte’s ability to improve players that has captured the eye the most, according to Milan football writer Vito Angele. He cites the recent performances of midfielder Antonio Candreva as a testament to Conte’s man-management.

“Conte’s secret is to know how to find the best from his players,” Angele told CNN.”Look at Candreva, last year it was thought he was finished. With Conte, he is a different player, he runs and scores. Conte is a perfectionist, he takes care of the smallest details.”

That attention to the small details was illustrated by his side’s hugely impressive first-half display during the 2-1 defeat Champions League defeat by Barcelona on Wednesday.

After taking the lead through Lautaro Martínez’s second-minute strike, Inter played with a style and confidence that few teams visiting Barcelona would have had the temerity to display.

The defeat, owing to two wonderful goals from Luis Suarez, the second coming with just six minutes remaining, was particularly harsh on Conte’s side.
“We are hurting,” Conte told reporters in the aftermath of the contest. “There is bitterness and anger at the result. All we can do now is lick our wounds and prepare for Sunday’s match, but I saw courage and character.”

Juventus, which has won five of its six league games so far this season with a draw at Fiorentina the only blemish on an otherwise impressive start, will be only too aware of Conte’s ability to channel the anger and frustration of defeat into positive energy. While there has been changes over the past years in terms of coaches, a new stadium and new players, one thing has remained constant at Juventus — success.

Atletico Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways in La Liga when they travel to the Estadio Municipal Jose Zorrilla to face Real Valladolid on Sunday afternoon.Premier 1 will show the action LIVE in the United Kingdom on Saturday at 7:55pm, just in time for kick-off at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The first three weeks of the La Liga campaign were shown LIVE on ITV4 in the United Kingdom before Premier Sports and La Liga struck a three-year deal to show matches.

Premier Sports will show games across Premier 1 and Premier 2, while they will also introduce a dedicated La Liga TV channel in January.

What are the other fixtures this weekend?

Villarreal-Real Betis take place on Friday night, with Athletic Bilbao’s visit of Valencia providing the entertainment on Saturday lunchtime.

Champions Barcelona travel to Getafe for a 3pm kick-off before high-flying Granada host Leganes.

The Madrid derby signs off a tasty Saturday but throughout Sunday we have Espanyol-Valladolid, Eibar-Celta Vigo, Alaves-Mallorca, Levante-Osasuna and Sevilla-Sociedad to look forward to.

Diego Simeone’s side are currently third in the table on 14 points – just one point off division leaders Real Madrid, while Valladolid occupy 10th spot after a solid start to the 2019-20 campaign. Two wins, three draws and two defeats – that is how Valladolid have performed in La Liga this season. A total of nine points from their seven matches has left them in 10th spot in the table, just four points off fourth.

Sergio Gonzalez’s side made a winning start to the season as they recorded a 2-1 victory over Real Betis on August 18, before picking up an impressive point at Real Madrid one week later. The White and Violets failed to win any of their next four, though, suffering defeats to Levante and Villarreal in the process.

Such a run would have been concerning if it had continued, but Valladolid managed to return to winning ways last weekend as they put two unanswered goals past Espanyol to move away from the bottom of the table.

Staying in Spain’s top flight has been a real problem for the club in recent years. Indeed, they spent four straight seasons in the Segunda Division before returning to La Liga last season – finishing 16th to ensure that they would compete at this level for a second successive campaign.

The omens are not exactly terrific for Valladolid heading into this weekend’s contest, though, as they have lost each of their last eight La Liga meetings with Atletico. That said, Blanquivioletas did beat the capital giants in back-to-back matches during the 2008-09 campaign.Atletico, meanwhile, have made a typically solid start to the season with a total of 14 points from their seven matches leaving them in third position, just one point off leaders Real Madrid heading into Week Eight.

Simeone’s side played out a goalless draw with Los Blancos at the Wanda Metropolitano last weekend, meaning that they have only won one of their last four in the league having also lost to Real Sociedad and drawn with Celta Vigo since the September international break.

Valladolid have had a free week to prepare for this match, but the same cannot be said for Atletico as the capital giants were in Champions League action away to Lokomotiv Moscow on Tuesday. The travelling will have taken it out of the players, but a 2-0 victory was secured courtesy of goals from Joao Felix and Thomas Partey.

A bunched up division sees just four points separate the top eight teams – Simeone will be content with how his side have started, although they are the lowest scorers in the top 12 with just seven goals.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have tough games this weekend, though, and Atletico will be keen not to waste the chance to potentially move to the top of the table ahead of the upcoming international break.Valladolid will once again be without the services of Luismi, Ruben Alcaraz and Javi Sanchez, but head coach Sergio has no fresh injury concerns from the win over Espanyol last time out.

Sandro Ramirez and Sergi Guardiola are expected to continue as the front two, while Oscar Plano should also keep his spot in a wide area after netting in the 2-0 success at the RCDE Stadium.

Pedro Porro is one player who could come into the starting XI, although Joaquin Fernandez and Enes Unal might have to make do with spots on the bench once again.

As for Atletico, Vitolo and Sime Vrsaljko are still on the sidelines, but the capital giants did not pick up any new injuries during their trip to Moscow.

Diego Costa, Alvaro Morata and Felix are all expected to feature in the final third of the field, while Stefan Savic and Kieran Trippier should return having been left out of the Champions League clash.

Thomas Lemar and Angel Correa are also options for change, although the pair are expected to be named among the substitutes once again.

Real Valladolid possible starting lineup: Masip; Nacho, Salisu, Kiko, Porro; Villa, Emeterio, Michel, Plano; Guardiola, Sandro

Atletico Madrid possible starting lineup: Oblak; Trippier, Gimenez, Savic, Lodi; Koke, Thomas, Saul; Felix; Costa, Morata

Referee Mike Dean.Newcastle United Manchester United live score (and video online live Here on SofaScore livescore you can find all Newcastle United vs Manchester United 06 Oct 19. 08:30. Newcastle. Man Utd · 29 Sep 19. FT. Leicester. Newcastle. 5. 0.

The eight matchday of the Premier League resumes on Sunday with Manchester United facing a road test where it really needs all three points. The Red Devils visit St. James’ Park to take on Newcastle in a battle of two teams in the bottom half of the table. United is in 11th with a 2-3-2 record and nine points, while Newcastle is in 19th place with a 1-2-4 record and just five points.

Man. United: When you don’t have a real striker, these things happen. United has not scored more than a goal in any of its last 10 games and are coming off a 0-0 draw against AZ Alkmaar in Europa League. That’s been the big issue in letting points slip away. Before long, they could find themselves firmly in the bottom half if somebody doesn’t step up.

Newcastle: This team is really reeling. They haven’t won any of their last five games and haven’t scored in over 263 minutes. The team lacks ideas, struggles in defense and is headed straight towards relegation. Steve Bruce’s days may be numbered if they fail to pick up a win or two in the next month or so. Paul Pogba is undergoing treatment for an ankle injury.

His Man United team mates Eric Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are out of action following knee and ligament surgeries.

Anthony Martial is also out with hamstring problems.

The French international is expected to make his return on October 20.

Newcastle centre-back Florian Lejeune is currently recuperating from a knee injury. Both teams are in desperate need of a spark, and a tense afternoon is on the cards as such. Here are the key viewing details for the fixture, the latest odds and a preview of what’s to come. While expectations were checked for United ahead of the campaign, few would have expected their season to have lost almost all momentum so quickly.

The past two matches have been a toil for Solskjaer’s team. Against Arsenal, they were fortunate to escape Old Trafford with a 1-1 draw, while on Thursday in the Europa League, they offered little as an attacking force against Alkmaar.

Football journalist Daniel Storey put the bluntness of the United attack into context.Still, prior to their trip to the north east the manager will have some concerns. Not only is his team lacking in confidence, but United are also set to be without some key men for the Newcastle showdown.

Jesse Lingard hobbled out of the Alkmaar clash with a hamstring problem, while the manager has also said Sunday’s match will likely come too soon for midfielder Paul Pogba, who has an ankle issue. In normal circumstances, Newcastle supporters would relish the chance to see their team get at a decimated and dejected United team. However, as occasional writer Jonny Sharples noted, neither side is in rude health ahead of the match.
While Bruce earned himself some favour with the Newcastle supporters following a 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the campaign, the results have dried up since. The manner in which they caved in at Leicester will be a big worry too.

Bruce’s team not only lack defensive cohesion, but they are also struggling massively in front of goal. Their return of four goals from their first seven Premier League games this season is the joint-worst in the division.

BT Sport’s Lynsey Hipgrave was scathing in her assessment of the team’s performance on Sunday. It feels like a cagey game is on the cards on Sunday with that in mind, as both managers have out-of-form players and absentees to contend with.

With United’s injury problems and rotten away record—they haven’t won any of their past 10 games away from Old Trafford—it’s hard to see Solskjaer’s side going to Newcastle and getting a victory. Equally, the Magpies don’t appear to have enough to get the three points themselves, meaning a stodgy draw is the most likely outcome.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be looking to get their Premier League campaign back on track after failing to win their previous two games, a loss to West Ham and a draw on Monday with Arsenal.

The hosts will be hoping to recover after being embarrassed 5-0 by Leicester City last time out.

Newcastle have won just once in the league all season, away to Spurs, and currently sit in the relegation zone. Both teams might feel it’s the best time to play the other.Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League will screen all the action from 4pm on Sunday.

Aston Villa vs Norwich Live

Aston Villa vs Norwich Live : Aston Villa vs Norwich Live Stream Online Free  Premier League Football Game 2019 There wasn’t quite as much on the line for the hosts as Dean Smith’s resurgent side had already made Aston Villa vs Norwich sure of fifth place and play-off qualification. They were yet to discover if it would be Leeds or West Brom they would be facing in the semi-finals but were looking to extend a 12-game unbeaten run to maintain momentum.By full-time the Champagne was spraying as City made sure of their title success. It wasn’t an afternoon without any nerves though.

We’re in must-win territory already. Seemingly. After Villa dropped points against Burnley, the pressure is on as Villa head to Norwich, with the Canaries in ‘must-win’ position themselves. The story so farAston Villa v Burnley – Premier League Villa ParkPhoto by Nick Potts/PA Images via Getty ImagesVilla stepped away from Villa Park on Saturday knowing they had been in a scrap. 2-2 with Burnley, with the Lancashire side going toe-to-toe with the Villans. Bloody hell, Villa couldn’t breathe much either side of their own goals. Burnley responded to everything Villa gave, and both sides left it all on the pitch.

Now, they head down to Carrow Road to play a battle-scarred Norwich team.Who are ya?Crystal Palace v Norwich City – Premier League

All nice ain’t it down Norwich? Famous figures in the boardroom, a likeable Head Coach, fine players, a gifted Director of Football and not far from the sea either.

Norwich might be just a bit too nice, though. They have stuck to their guns and committed to the front-foot approach that defined their Championship title-winning season in 18/19. Lovely football that has seen them beat Manchester City, while getting trashed by Burnley, Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

A slight injury crisis has eased, but the current issues won’t help Norwich out a great deal, but there’s still a few playmakers about in this side.More? This preview podcast with Michael Bailey (The Athletic’s Norwich City) hosted by Cole Pettem has a lot more to say:The Gaffer

Farke led Norwich to silverware and promotion last season and has pretty much vindicated his board’s decision to stick with him through thick-and-thin.

But now the real challenge has started. Norwich come into this season outgunned, outspent and now outmanned. His forward-thinking football will win hearts and minds – but he’ll face the same question as Villa’s Dean Smith: can it win points on a regular basis? It remains to be seen, and Farke will have to weather the storm once more.

Photo by Stephen Pond/Getty ImagesThe goalscoring threat of Teemu Pukki is going to be a worry – but he is far more isolated now than in than his Golden Boot season. The supply line is harder to find, and the pitches seem smaller and more of an enclosure compared to last season. Pukki has kept pace with his doubters – and competitors – so far, but he might not be able to drag the weight of Norwich around all season. As a lone striker, there’s an awful lot on his shoulders. Both he and Todd Cantwell boast good xG, but the real question is if they can carry on for thirty-or-so more games. Not many can!

Has Pukki got the quality to damage Villa? Absolutely. Will he? Only time will tell. It’s not as much of a sure thing as it was last year. What about the Villa? It’s been tough for Villa so far. Valiant performances have been met with a sound retort – and Villa lack a win in this chapter of the season. That can all change on Saturday before it closes for another international break.

Last time out against Burnley, Grealish was deployed as a left winger:This differs slightly from his midfield role (shown here against West Ham):And it reflects on his original role at Villa – as a straiinsideforwardConclusion? Grealish will see more touches in the middle, but he’ll always operate on the left, where he can do his damage. This edition of Super Jack will be trusted to switch out, and rotate on-pitch, meaning he’ll pop up in the middle a lot as well.

A new/old role for Jack Grealish brought Conor Hourihane into the side for a decent amount of success. Hourihane and Grealish combine well, but more importantly – Grealish is effective on the flank and will cut inwards. It’s the best thing for Aston Villa that this continues, so they can better utilise Douglas Luiz and Hourihane in the team, while losing their worries on the wing.

Grealish will operate in a free-role, and will drift to the areas of his choosing as per his last game. He is already developing an effective partnership with debutant Matt Targett on the left-side of the pitch, and Targett’s forward ability will ensure Villa don’t miss an out-and-out winger on that side of the pitch.

Trezeguet may see a start, and that’s not because of a lack of production from El Ghazi, but because the wingers have rotated all season. They both offer threat and speed – and hopefully it can turn into constant production.

Wesley will start – and will be offered a chance to shine against Norwich. Keinan Davis is waiting in the wings though, and Jonathan Kodjia is set to return from injury soon. It won’t be long before Villa start to rotate up front.

Reflecting on Norwich vs Burnley, with the Clarets succeeding thanks to a suffocating press – If the wingers and Wesley can lead an effective press away from home, it may win them the game. Burnley’s second goal against Norwich came moments after a full-back lost the ball on a targeted press:

Wesley has been a bit of a worry for Aston Villa fans, but losing aerial duels to a high line is what strikers usually do in this league. The real worry is how out of sorts the striker can look at times. He’s scored the goals, but Wesley seems to be operating on a different plane during certain phases of the game. Expect a fired up Wesley to step up against Norwich.

Norwich will be looking to prove something themselves though – and that means that Marvelous Nakamba will have to make himself know. The Zimbabwean has enjoyed a good few games, and that must continue. The Canaries will want to deal Villa a loss here – and Nakamba mustn’t allow that to happen on his watch. He has provided plenty of energy and might so far, and long may it carry on.

At the back, Tyrone Mings and Björn Engels will look to be slightly more effective. Burnley opened them up twice to score – and that can’t happen too often. The strongest part of Villa’s first chapter has made way for John McGinn and Villa’s attacking creativity in this second phase of the Premier League. It needs to come back to the forefront – or Villa will keep conceding.

Prediction
Norwich are lacking strength due to injuries and are under pressure – while Villa have performed well in a number of games up to now. 3-2 to Aston Villa.
